+ About this map
Iroquois Peak rises to 4,840 feet at the southwest end of the MacIntyre Range in the Adirondack High Peaks, the eighth-highest summit in New York. It is reached over the top of Algonquin Peak, the second-highest in the state, and the two are joined by a high, open ridge above treeline. There is no marked trail to Iroquois, which keeps it quieter than its taller neighbour.
This map traces the crest of the MacIntyre Range. The contour lines run along the ridge from Algonquin, the highest point on the sheet, across Boundary Peak to Iroquois as a narrow band of closely spaced summits, with steep flanks dropping away on both sides toward Indian Pass and the Lake Colden basin. The elevation on this map runs from about 2,200 feet to just over 5,100 feet, close to 2,900 feet of relief along one ridge.
